Private-Equity Firm Acquires Rural/Metro

Rural/Metro's board unanimously approved the deal, which will take the company private.

From the Yuma Sun: Rural/Metro Corp., which provides ambulance and fire services in Yuma County, Ariz., has agreed to be acquired by private-equity firm Warburg Pincus in a deal valued at $438.2 million.

Rural/Metro's board unanimously approved the deal, which will take the company private. If shareholders approve the deal, Rural/Metro said it anticipates the acquisition will be completed by the end of June.

The Scottsdale-based company provides ambulance and fire-protection services for about 440 communities, including Yuma County, in 20 states. Read the entire article here.
