Former Chief Sentenced to Jail for Stealing Fire Department Funds

Former Chief Robert Robinson pleaded guilty on Monday to stealing money from accounts held by of Montgomery County (Texas) Emergency Services District No. 1.

From the Houston Chronicle: Former Chief Robert Robinson pleaded guilty on Monday to stealing money from accounts held by of Montgomery County (Texas) Emergency Services District No. 1, and will spend a year in jail. The guilty plea to a misdemeanor charge was the culmination of an investigation into allegations of improper conduct over the last two years while he was chief.

Robinson also paid $20,000 — approximately the sum he pocked — in restitution to the county as part of his plea agreement. Read the entire article here.
