The National Volunteer Fire Council will host a live webinar on Monday, Aug. 22, at 3:30 p.m. EST, to discuss the challenges of recruiting and retaining volunteers and how to overcome these challenges. The free, one-hour event will help departments identify ways to attract new volunteers and maintain adequate staffing levels.
The webinar will be hosted by Chief Jeff Cash, NVFC North Carolina Director and First Vice Chair. Cash has been in the fire service for 30 years serving in both the volunteer and career sectors. As chief of the Cherryville (N.C.) Fire Department, Cash has been faced with — and overcome — recruitment and retention challenges.
