From the Macon Telegraph: Gresston (Ga.) Volunteer Community Fire Chief Jay Brown suffered a fatal heart attack while on duty on June 27. He was 42.

Brown was helping clear trees after a severe thunderstorm when he began experiencing shortness of breath. He lost consciousness on the way to the hospital and did not recover.

The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Dodge County Fireman’s Children’s Fund.
