Taylor & Taylor Associates and the Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. have partnered to award a $12,663 grant to the FDNY for construction of a roof-operations training simulator.

The simulator consists of a 1-story building measuring 30-by-30 feet, with multiple cutting stations on the roof. At each station, firefighters will train using the roof saw to cut through panels that can be replaced after every training session. The roof simulator will provide firefighters with a chance to train at cutting through the different construction features associated with buildings located in all five boroughs.
