From WINK TV: The president of the local firefighters union in Cape Coral, Fla., wants an evaluation of the city's staffing numbers after firefighters had to keep working in a heat index that topped 100 degrees because browned-out units couldn’t offer relief.
Three out of four units were browned out for the day. Bttn. Chief Rob Blasetti said that meant firefighters on scene who were exhausted and needed to hydrate couldn't go to the hospital.
