Rural/Metro Chief Promoted to GM for Southern Arizona

Brandhuber will continue to lead Rural/Metro Fire as fire chief, but will take of responsibility of managing the company’s EMS operations in the market.

From the Explorer: Tom Brandhuber, chief of the Rural/Metro Fire Department in Pima County, Ariz., has been named division general manager for Southern Arizona.

Brandhuber will continue to lead Rural/Metro Fire as fire chief, but will take of responsibility of managing the company’s EMS operations in the market.

Brandhuber began his career in emergency services in 1989 in the U.S. Air Force Reserve as a firefighter. In 1990, he began work as an emergency medical technician with Kord’s Ambulance Service in Tucson. In 1998, he joined Rural/Metro Fire Department as a fire inspector and was promoted to fire chief in 2008.

Brandhuber is currently certified as Fire Officer Four through the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress. In addition, he is the current Command Chief Master Sergeant for the 944 FW U.S. Air Force Reserves at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona.
He holds an associate’s degree in fire science from the Community College of the Air Force, a bachelor’s degree in public safety administration and a master’s of business administration, both from Grand Canyon University. Read the entire article here.
