Batavia Fire Department Weighs Fees for Non-Residents

Chief Randy Deicke has recommended charging $125 per vehicle per hour and $35 per firefighter per hour in motor-vehicle crashes where the department is needed and whose drivers reside outside of Batavia’s normal response area.

From the Chicago Sun-Times: Batavia (Ill.) Fire Chief Randy Deicke has recommended the department adopt certain non-resident fees for services that are “outside the normal province” of fire services.

Deicke has recommended charging $125 per vehicle per hour and $35 per firefighter per hour in motor-vehicle crashes where the department is needed and whose drivers reside outside of Batavia’s normal response area.

Deicke said child seat installation is a service the department regularly performs to ensure that the devices are installed correctly. He has suggested a $25 charge to residents living outside of the fire department’s normal response area. Read the entire article here.
