USFA Releases Free '50-Plus' Fire Safety Campaign Materials

Free fire prevention materials directed toward people who are 50-plus years old is available immediately from the U.S. Fire Administration. “Prevent Fire. Save Lives.” is a newly-launched campaign that provides the Fire Service with easy-to-use, reproducible fire prevention material that will help educate your target audience. A campaign CD is free to order and materials have no limits on distribution.

A Campaign Guide developed for the fire service will assist in planning and implementing a People 50-Plus Campaign in the communities you serve. The Guide contains background and “how to” campaign information, easy-to-reproduce materials for community outreach (a People 50-Plus fire safety fact sheet, flier and bookmarks in English and Spanish, for example), and sample media materials. A PowerPoint presentation is also on the CD for use in community meetings and other local events.

You can view, download and print all campaign material at www.usfa.fema.gov/50Plus or you can order a Campaign CD by sending an e-mail request to usfa@hagersharp.com or faxing a request to: ATTN: “USFA People 50-Plus Campaign” (301) 447-1102. The limit is one free CD per fire service entity; however, the CD may be reproduced and distributed.
