Wolverine Buys Elite Fire Apparatus Assets

Wolverine Fire Apparatus of Union City, Mich., purchased the assets of Elite Fire Apparatus of Tilleda, Wis., and announced that it will build Wolverine fire and rescue vehicles in the former Elite plant.

Wolverine completed the purchase on Feb. 4 and hired Bill Hurley as the operations and sales manager for the Wisconsin plant. Several former Elite employees have been re-hired to continue operations there. The Wolverine plant in Michigan will remain in operation.

“Wolverine Fire Apparatus is coming off the most productive year in both revenue and trucks sold in its 30-year history," said Shane Williams, president and CEO of Wolverine. "We strongly feel that this purchase will provide us with everything we need to not only handle our current growth, but to sustain our growth for years to come.”
