Waterous Offers Apparatus Upgrade Information

Waterous now offers a list of the "Top 14" products to get fire apparatus back on track and up to industry requirements. It is specifically aimed at apparatus that were built prior to the current Annex D of NFPA 1901.

The list covers three categories: safety, CAFS, and environmental and performance upgrades. It offers the latest in product technology and equipment to meet departments' needs for older apparatus.

The safety category includes four innovative products designed to increase equipment awareness and prevent costly fire truck repairs. Products include the dual shift alarm, overheat protection manager, large-diameter slow-close valves and the intake relief valve.

Some of the upgrades in the CAFS category include the Foam Manager and pump/compressor systems. Both products help to improve pump versatility and consistency.

The environmental and performance upgrades focus on products that are either environmentally friendly or enhance performance capabilities for fire apparatus. Products in this category include the oil-free VPO primer, non-toxic PrimeSafe, mechanical seal cooling line conversion kit and butterfly valve.
