Spokane Valley Gets a New Shop Truck

Spokane Valley’s new shop truck helps it maintain apparatus and equipment at 10 stations.

Spokane Valley Fire District has 10 stations and protects an area of 75 square miles in eastern Washington. The department recently purchased a new shop truck to help keep its fleet in top running condition.

The shop truck is built on a Ford F-350 chassis with a Stahl service body. It carries miscellaneous tools and spare parts required for fast, minor repairs and service on apparatus and equipment that cannot be brought into the department’s garage. It also has a 100-gallon fuel tank and dispensing pump to refuel apparatus on scene at extended incidents as well as maintain the fuel levels of generators and other equipment at the stations.

Thanks to Gordon Schoonmaker, fleet operations supervisor, for sharing the photo and information about the new truck.
