Spartan Develops Air-Ride Suspension System

Spartan Chassis Inc., a subsidiary of Spartan Motors Inc., recently developed the 24K Independent Front Suspension specifically for fire trucks.

Working with Reyco Granning Suspensions, Spartan Chassis developed the 24K Air-Ride System to combine improved vehicle control with high axle capacity. The system — currently the only 24K Air-Ride IFS in the emergency-rescue market—can be applied to the Spartan Gladiator and Metro Starcab/chassis units.

The Spartan Performance Air-Ride System also provides:

  • Enhanced ride and handling with reduced driver fatigue.
  • Exceptional, proven stopping power and improved vehicle stability.
  • Improved serviceability reducing labor costs and vehicle downtime.
  • Dynamic load leveling for consistent vehicle ride quality.
