Southwest EVT Conference is Set to Go

The seventh annual Southwest EVT Conference in Fort Worth, Texas, is scheduled for Feb. 26–March 3. This popular event is co-hosted by the Texas and Oklahoma Associations of Emergency Vehicle Technicians and has grown to be one of the largest apparatus maintenance training conferences in the country.

EVTs and mechanics from around the country will gather for four days of specialized training and continuing education at the Tarrant County College Fire Service Training Center. A total of 25 courses will offer instruction on pumps, aerials, electrical systems, electronics, tires and wheels, engines, foam systems and many other subjects. Several courses will review the design and performance standards of pumpers, aerials, ambulances and ARFF units, as well as the operation and maintenance of Allison transmissions, to help prepare students for the EVTCC certification exams. A special EVTCC test site has been scheduled for those who make prior arrangements to take tests.

Other events during the conference include a welcome reception, maintenance roundtable discussion and dinner, new product vendor show, and the annual banquet. All courses and events are included in the conference registration fee of only $199. EVTCC testing, transportation and lodging are extra.

For more information, visit www.taevt.org or call either Mark Brochtrup, conference coordinator, at 972-462-5175, or David Williams, registration coordinator, at 325-676-6698.
