Southwest EVT Conference Set to Go

The Ninth Annual Southwest EVT Conference is scheduled for March 17–21 in Fort Worth, Texas. Organizers say that this year’s event will be the largest ever, with over 30 courses spanning four days.

Course offerings have been arranged so that students can either focus their time on a single track of study, or pick and choose classes to suit their varied needs. For example, students can spend four straight days on pumps or aerials or other areas. They can also pick individual classes on generators, engines, multiplex electrical systems and many other topics over the four-day period. As in past years, the conference will include a wide range of review classes for technicians preparing for the various EVTCC certification tests. Those who wish to take one of the tests during the conference may do so during a special session. Prior registration and payment of test fees to EVTCC are required.

The conference classes are held at the Tarrant County College Fire Service Training Center, which is one of the best training facilities in the country. Housing for the conference is available at the Radisson Hotel Fort Worth North Fossil Creek, just a short drive from the college.

The registration fee is $249 per person, and includes enrollment in classes, a welcome reception, banquet dinner and more. Transportation, lodging, incidentals and EVTCC test fees are not included.
