Rosenbauer Introduces New Aerial Platform

Rosenbauer displayed its new Cobra 101-foot rear-mount aerial platform at FDIC. The unit features a three-section telescoping ladder for greater rigidity at all angles and extensions.

The Cobra can be positioned at elevations from 12° below horizontal to 75 degrees above. The platform has 19 square feet of floor space and is rated for 1,000 pounds of personnel without water flowing or 500 pounds while flowing 1,500 gpm. Maximum water flowrate is 2,000 gpm. The three-section aerial has fewer overlapping section joints and can provide a stiffer structure to better resist flexing when extended.

One feature of the new platform is the Aerial Commander Seat, which allows the operator to control the aerial, monitor and lights with a single joy-stick. The advanced Canbus electronic system constantly monitors the aerial, outriggers and load to help prevent potentially unsafe actions.
