Rosenbauer Roadrunner Features Rear Control Panel

The new Roadrunner pumper with aerial ladder from Rosenbauer America has a unique rear-mounted control panel for both the pump and aerial.

The Roadrunner features an 68-foot aluminum aerial ladder with a 500-pound rated tip load. The aerial is equipped with a 1,500gpm radio-controlled monitor. The vehicle also has a 1,500gpm pump, 700-gallon water tank, storage for 800 feet of 5-inch hose and a foam system.

The rear-mount control panel has a raised operator’s platform above the rear pump connections. This location gives the operator direct visual control of the aerial and monitor, as well as line-of-sight visibility along both sides of the apparatus. Controls for the aerial, pump, foam system, monitor and generator are located on this panel to allow one person to operate all components.

The new Roadrunner is part of the Rosenbauer America Tech Drive 07 tour of apparatus, which will be shown at various locations throughout the country in the coming year.
