Proposals Still Being Accepted for NFPA 1901

Proposals for the next edition of the NFPA 1901, Automotive Fire Apparatus, will be accepted until 5 p.m. on March 10. Anyone may propose changes, additions or deletions to the wording and content of the standard for consideration by the NFPA committee.

A proposal should state the problem with the current standard and substantiate the proposed solution. For example, you may feel a certain requirement of the current standard is either too restrictive or not restrictive enough and propose a change in wording along with the reasons behind your proposal. In other cases, you may feel the standard does not currently cover a certain area of apparatus design and performance at all and may want to propose wording for a future requirement.

All proposals must be submitted on the proper form, which may be found on the last page of any current NFPA standard or on the NFPA Web site at www.nfpa.org.
