Modec Gets Big Order for Decon Units

Modec Inc. of Denver received an order for 22 mobile decontamination units for the State of Illinois as part of the statewide Mutual Aid Box Alarm System.

The units will be built on International 4300 chassis and will feature a command and operations center in the forward portion of the body. The decontamination system includes a diesel-fired water heater capable of producing over 2,000 gallons of hot water per hour. Other features include electronic water temperature thermostats, fully protected exterior operations areas and automated liftgates for non-ambulatory patient handling.
