HME Ahrens-Fox Introduces 'Mad Dog' CAFS
To fill the need for a cost-effective, fast-attack compressed air foam system, HME Ahrens-Fox unveiled its patent-pending “Mad Dog” CAFS at the 2006 Fire Department Instructors Conference in Indianapolis.
Engineered to be simple to operate, the system uses an advanced microprocessor and marine-grade waterproof switch gear that allows two-touch activation to generate volumes of fire-killing Class A foam.
Powered by a heavy-duty air compressor driven directly by the chassis engine, the Mad Dog installation includes a solid-state foam metering system and built-in foam tank refill provision. All controls are grouped together on the pump panel for ease of operation and are integrated into HME Ahrens-Fox’s Hydra Technology water movement system.
According to the manufacturer, the Mad Dog is the most-affordable, heavy-duty, structural-grade CAF system on the market, allowing departments to upgrade their attack arsenal with compressed-air foam at a reasonable price.
