Kussmaul Designs Trailer Shoreline Disconnect

Kussmaul Electronics now has a special shoreline disconnect that automatically ejects an electrical shoreline when the trailer brakes are applied.

Kussmaul Electronics now has a special shoreline disconnect that automatically ejects an electrical shoreline when the trailer brakes are applied.

The Kussmaul Super Trailer Eject is designed for trailers and other vehicles that aren't equipped with electrical starter circuits. It's especially useful for situations where line-voltage equipment, such as air conditioners and communications gear, are installed in a trailer and must be operated from a shoreline connection while the vehicle is stationary.

The unit is wired to the brake lights and ejects the shoreline plug when the vehicle driver steps on the foot brakes to shift into gear. An internal switch prevents the solenoid from activating when no shoreline is detected. It is rated for circuits up to 20 amps and is available with several different receptacle patterns. A rubber connector protector covers the plug to prevent it from damaging nearby vehicles and equipment when ejected.
