Jerr-Dan Introduces 60-ton Rotator Wrecker
Jerr-Dan Corp., an Oshkosh Truck Corp. company, has introduced a heavy-duty 60-ton wrecker with a full-rotating boom and rear underlift system. The new wrecker is suitable for towing heavy vehicles and a variety of rescue and recovery operations.
The boom on the new wrecker can rotate 360° and can elevate up to 51°. At full elevation, the boom hook is positioned 40 feet above the ground. The boom has a rated capacity of 120,000 pounds when retracted and up to 44,000 pounds when extended. In the horizontal position, it can exert 60,000 pounds of horizontal pull to move objects or to upright overturned vehicles.
The rear underlift has a rated vertical lift of 53,000 pounds when retracted and 17,000 pounds when fully extended. It can be extended out 140 inches to safely cradle and lift the front axle on vehicles configured with set-back front axle positions, such as those found on many custom fire apparatus.
