HME Ahrens Fox Gets $28 Million Order

The state of California placed an order with HME Ahrens Fox for 110 apparatus worth $28 million. The order includes ICS Type I structure pumpers and Type III 4x4 wildland pumpers for several government departments.

HME Ahrens Fox will build 21 HME custom pumpers with 1,250gpm main pumps, diesel-engine auxiliary pumps and 800-gallon water tanks for the California Office of Emergency Services. The California Department of Corrections will get another 17 similar units.

The order also includes 72 International 4x4 wildland pumpers with HME Ahrens-Fox bodies for CalFire, formerly known as the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. The wildland units will have 500-gpm pumps and 500-gallon water tanks.

The first units will be delivered in mid-2008.
