Freightliner Will Phase In 2007 Engines

Freightliner plans to introduce specific 2007 diesel engines in its line of medium-duty and heavy-duty trucks starting in January.

Larry Dutko, general manager of the EPA '07 Team for Freightliner LLC trucks, indicates that the medium-duty Freightliner and Sterling models will be offered with Mercedes-Benz MBE926 and Cummins ISB and ISC engines. The ISB will be introduced in January, the ISC in February and the MBE926 in March.

The heavy-duty Freightliner, Sterling and Western Star models will have the Mercedes-Benz MBE4000, Detroit Diesel Series 60, and Caterpillar C13 and C15 engines. The Series 60 will be available in January, the C13 and C15 in February, and the MBE4000 in March.

Customers should contact their local Freightliner dealer to determine power and torque ratings, option limitations and prices for the new engines in specific truck models.
