Firefighter Arrested After Tanker Rolls

A firefighter in New Mexico was arrested after the fire department tanker he was driving rolled over while making a turn. Both the driver and another occupant were injured.

The accident occurred while the tanker was responding to a structure fire. When the driver attempted to turn onto a side road, the tanker overturned and ended upside down in a field about 150 feet from the road. The driver told law enforcement officials he had a drink and had taken some cold medicine prior to the incident, but refused to take a breath test. He was subsequently arrested.

The tanker was badly damaged and may not be repairable.
