Darley Catalog Features Latest Gear

Darley catalog #247 is available now. It contains the latest fire, rescue, EMS, hazmat and personal protective gear, including several items that will be required by the upcoming NFPA 1901 standard.

Among the new NFPA requirements are a minimum of five 28-inch-high bright orange traffic cones with reflective markings to be carried on each apparatus. The cones are used to direct oncoming traffic away from motor vehicle accidents and protect personnel working in the roadway. Departments may chose to carry more than five cones if experience or local conditions require them — for example, if hills or curves might block visibility and require additional warning at greater distances. Darley offers both rigid, stackable cones (AK265) as well as collapsible cones (BB077) for compact storage.

The new standard also requires a high-contrast safety vest with reflective markings for each seating position on an apparatus. Vests need to meet the ANSI/ISEA 207–2006 standard to comply. Darley offers a compliant vest for fire service personnel (BG516), and another for emergency medical personnel (BG515). The differences between the two are the color of the trim and the lettering.

Other sections of the catalog feature new pumps, nozzles, turnout gear, hand tools and others. Darley maintains a large on-hand inventory and has a staff of customer service personnel to answer questions.
