Crimson Fire Receives Major Contract

Crimson Fire was awarded a contract from Montgomery County (Md.) Fire and Rescue for 36 new pumpers worth a total of over $11.2 million. By making a single order now, the department will be able to replace its older apparatus with new ones that have identical components and require identical operation procedures, parts and maintenance.

The new pumpers will be built on Spartan Gladiator chassis with Cummins ISM engines, Hale pumps, Hale CAFSPro compressed-air foam systems and 750-gallon water tanks. They will be equipped with Cummins Onan 7.5-kw generators, pre-plumbed engine monitors and pre-connected portable blitz-line monitors.

Other features include aluminum bodies, lockable EMS compartments and LED warning lights.
