Brian Zollner, North Region Staff Chief of Operations for CAL FIRE, died after his vehicle left the road and crashed.

The accident occurred when the chief was driving a vehicle along a rural state highway. For reasons still to be determined, the vehicle left the road and crashed. The victim died of injuries sustained in the accident. No other vehicles were involved.
