ASE Tests on a Computer
Did you know that you can take the ASE qualification tests on a computer instead of the traditional way with paper and pencil? There are advantages and disadvantages to each method.
The Automotive Service Excellence tests cover suspensions and steering, engines, brakes and other vehicle components and are commonly used to establish the qualifications of service technicians who work on automobiles, medium-duty trucks and heavy-duty trucks. To achieve Master Level certification, emergency vehicle technicians must pass both ASE and EVTCC tests.
The advantages of testing on a computer at a special test center include flexibility in scheduling the tests and an immediate report of test results while you are at the center. The biggest disadvantage is that computer tests are timed and the time allowed is shorter than the four hours allotted for written tests. Both tests cover exactly the same content. The computer tests may not be taken at home or work.
