DARLEY'S ODIN CAFS
Automatically controlled foam and water refill systems are just a few of the features on the Derringer model CAFS. Compressed-air foam allows pre-treating of structures with Class A foam in advance of a wildfire. This pre-treating allows the water to cling to the surfaces of fuels, even vertically, to increase moisture content. A final cap or cover of thick dry foam would then top off this process much like the frosting on a cake. This final layer of foam helps hold in the moisture on the fuels longer and also acts as an insulation barrier, further isolating the fuels from oxygen and the heat of the fire. By using water more efficiently, reductions in smoke and water damage have lead to CAF's acceptance worldwide. More Derringer features include a 34-hp Briggs & Stratton Vanguard engine; liquid-cooled, three-cylinder, 12-volt electric start; turbo-charged Darley model AGE pump; two independent CAF discharge mix points; one 2-inch tank to pump suction inlet and more. DUO-SAFETY'S RAIL GUARDS
Stop ladder rail damages on your beam-mounted ground ladders. We have come up with a solution to road damages occurring on beam-mounted ladders. Use our new rail guards to protect your ladder beams from unnecessary wear and damages.
They are made of a low-density polyethylene plastic — similar to our Pike Pole butt ends — and are simple to install. They also are compression fitted. This plastic guard will raise the ladder beam approximately a quarter-inch or less from the bed area while stored.
Suggested installation is every other rung or every rung (one side only, unless you can store ladders both directions) depending on your average ladder calls made.
Easy to retrofit on any Duo-Safety Ladder (Solid-Side models only) no matter what age. One size will fit in all ladder rungs for Duo-Safety Ladders.
Why not stop travel damages in their tracks and help extend the life of your ground ladders? Duo-Safety Ladder Corp., www.duosafety.com

ENVIZION'S APPARATUS BUDGETING CONSULTANTS
What financial variables do you include in a comprehensive fleet-replacement plan? What is the difference between interest rate and APR? What factors control how much interest you pay on a loan — can you name all seven? If your apparatus bids come in $40,000 higher than you expect, could you still buy or would the purchase be put on hold?
Every day, fire departments make mistakes when answering financial questions like these. These mistakes cost thousands of scarce budget dollars and, at the times, most fire departments don't know which mistakes they're making.
When these mistakes are revealed, you are forced to spend time back-tracking, rebuilding your credibility and resorting to second-class choices so at least something gets done.
It doesn't have to be that way.
With an apparatus budgeting consultant from Envizion Financial, you get an experienced team member who digs into these financial situations and gives you the expert information you need. Because all we do is help fire departments, we're prepared to help with the unique financial needs of fire departments. Envizion Financial, www.envizionfire.com

FRC'S PRESSURE GOVERNORS
Just as the name suggests, the FRC INControl pressure governor with engine monitor and master pressure display long has been admired by the fire industry for its ability to control pump pressure effectively. Fire professionals also have appreciated its capability to display critical information related to safe pump operation clearly. Building on these capabilities, FRC has designed the next generation of INControl pressure governors.
The INControl 300 retains the existing push-button design for increasing and decreasing either the pressure or RPM settings. The INControl 400 uses FRC's patented electronic control knob to simplify adjustments. The control knob is easy to operate with a gloved hand and, although it resembles a traditional vernier throttle, uses all state-of-the-art technology.
Both new INControls connect to the engine systems via the J1939 databus. This gives the INControl the capability to respond quicker to changes, further enhancing the operator's capability to monitor and control pump operation. Other added features on the new INControl include a digital message display that shows operation settings, warnings and fault messages; a menu button used to access and display stored data; and automatic brightness adjustment of the display LED for day or nighttime operation. ROSENBAUER'S GENERAL ALUMINUM BODY
At Rosenbauer, the world's largest fire apparatus manufacturer, we think paying attention to the smallest detail is a big deal. We construct each General model from our own patented body design so every part is given just as much attention as the next. The details that go into our trucks are just as important as the results that come out of them.
The backbone of the General heavy-duty extruded aluminum body is its 4- by 12-inch monster extrusion. The monster extrusion is used to frame the perimeter of each compartment of each body side. The two side frames are joined to an extruded aluminum sub frame that is manufactured with extruded aluminum double wall I-beam channel that provides support for the water tank and body structure. This added strength allows the body to rest on the channel, distributing weight throughout the entire beam and reducing stress at the weld points.
Some of the benefits of the General extruded aluminum body include fully-protected wiring harnesses and compartment lighting, unobstructed full-width and height compartment openings, integral adjustable shelving tracks, and an industry-leading, 20-year transferable warranty.
