The IAFC’s Emergency Vehicle Management Section will host its annual apparatus maintenance workshop Aug. 25–26, in Chicago.

The workshop will include topics such as ladder testing, electrical systems and an overview of foam systems. Attendees also will visit the Navistar Plant and Ride & Drive event on Aug. 26. EVT certification tests will also be offered at the workshop.

New this year, the section will present the first Boyd Cole Memorial Educators Award. This award is for a person that has given outstanding support to the emergency vehicle technicians as ether a trainer, educator or facilitator. The person could come from the corporate, private or public sector.
